This article covers the important ways that activating your voice and vagina can help you to experience more pleasure and abundance in life!
Vital Reasons To Awaken Your Yoni And Vocal Cord Connection
If you don’t yet understand how the yoni and voice are connected, then you should check out my article on how the vagina and vocal cords are connected first, you can read it here.
Because in this article, we take a look at some great ways that you can benefit from nurturing your yoni and vocal cord connection!
1. Improve Your Communication Skills And Sex Life
Once you start to comprehend the deep-rooted physical and energetic connection between the vagina and the voice, you can then begin to understand just how much this awareness can support your holistic healing and liberation.
It is often said that an active voice is an active yoni, and that an open yoni is an open throat! And whilst this might seem like a rather odd phrase to start off with, it really does make sense when you dig in.
Because there is such a strong and mystical connection between the two organs, if you are disconnected, numb, closed off from, or storing trauma in one, it can have a profound and similar effect on the other.
But what this also means, is that if you work on improving your connection to one of the organs, it can also help you to simultaneously improve and empower your connection to the other.
For example, if you are experiencing rigidity in your sex life, you can help to improve the flow of energy in your sex life by working on your yoni and your voice simultaneously.
And if you’re struggling to communicate your choices, needs, desires, and boundaries then you can help to empower your voice by strengthening your connection to your yoni.
Feeling liberated in your voice helps you to feel liberated in the bedroom, and feeling empowered in your sex life, and your connection to your vagina, helps you to feel empowered in your voice, authentic self-expression, and creativity.
Start paying attention to synchronicities between your yoni and your throat. For example, when you passionately kiss someone you might notice that your mouth becomes moist and wet, but the same also happens as your vagina starts to lubricate in preparation for sexual activity.
And how does it feel when you vocalise during sex and perhaps even orgasm? Does it feel like you’re expressing energy and relaxing into the experience? Does the vocalisation help you to release?
Opening the throat and vocalising your enjoyment or pleasure through the voice, helps to open the vagina and relax the pelvic floor. It really is a great way to channel a strong current of sexual energy! And in fact, learning to channel your sexual energy is a central part of tantric sex.
2. Open Up To Creative Self-Expression, Sexual Expression, And Holistic Healing
Your voice and vagina both signify so much, especially if we look at the energetic body and chakras associated with them.
The throat chakra, also known as vishuddha chakra, is located in the region of the larynx. And it is associated with authenticity, self-expression, and pure communication of the Divine truth.
And the reproductive system and sex organs are associated with the sacral chakra, also known as svadhistana chakra. The sacral chakra is responsible for passionate creativity, sensuality, sexuality, and pleasure.
Working with both the vagina and the voice can help you to improve your ability to access pleasure, passion, creativity, authentic self-expression, and Divinity. They really are a powerful source of abundance and manifestation.
Self-expression, whether it’s vocal or sexual, can be a really vital component for healing and liberation.
You might find that you’re holding trauma, insecurity, and shame surrounding your sexual identity and sexual nature.
And perhaps you’re also harbouring blocks with unfiltered, honest, authentic self-expression too.
It’s really quite common to hold fear and anxiety with regards to being truly seen, heard, and accepted for your authentic creative self and your sensual nature.
Getting comfortable using both your voice and your vagina helps you to heal shame and trauma whilst improving confidence, enjoyment, and self-esteem in both your sex life, artistry, and self-expression.
You can use your voice and vagina to playfully explore your needs, desires, boundaries, choices, and bliss points so that your life is filled with more joy.
3. Activate The Vagus Nerve Through The Voice And Deep Breathing To Balance The Nervous System
If you’ve been feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or anxious then working with the voice and vagina connection can really help to ground and calm you.
Various different types of vocalisation and breathing can help you to heal by activating the vagus nerve and the parasympathetic nervous system. Deep humming and low-pitched groans in particular are great for activating the vagus nerve!
The vagus nerve travels through the larynx, and it is stimulated by calm, steady, and deep rhythmic breathing along with the low-pitched vibrations of the voice box.
The respiratory diaphragm and your voice help to massage the vagus nerve. They activate the vagus nerve through the rhythm of your breathing, your diaphragm moving, the movement in your larynx and vocal cord vibrations.
You can help to put the body into the ‘rest and digest’ or ‘feed, read, and breed’ response which is known to stimulate restoration, repair, and healing simply by working on tailored vocal and breathing exercises. The soothing strokes of your breath and voice can help to unwind stress and tension from your nervous system.
If done right, and with good technique, singing can really help to heal and balance a tired and overworked nervous system.
4. Learn To Express Pleasure Shamelessly Through The Voice
Not only does vocal toning, moaning, groaning and humming help to activate the vagus nerve and your body’s natural healing and repair response—they can help you to become more confident with expressing pleasure.
If you’re holding shame and trauma around pleasure, you might find that this presents itself in rigidity and awkwardness.
Are you comfortable making sounds when you experience pleasure? Or do you find yourself tense, rigid, holding your breath, and stuck in silence?
Practising a variety of vocalisation techniques can help you to dismantle shame and trauma around pleasure so that you can express and release pleasure through your voice. Expressing pleasure through the voice can be extremely liberating, raw, wild, fun, and healing.
The next time you eat something you enjoy—explore using your voice to vocalize your pleasure. Try letting out a little moan, or groan, and see how it feels. Once you start feeling comfortable there, you can begin to expand your boundaries.
Perhaps you then want to start playing with sound during masturbation, and when you’re ready you can even incorporate it into partnered sexual play too.
When the body isn’t able to move energy around freely, whether it’s originating through pleasure or discomfort, it creates tension. Tension in the mind, body, and energy body.
But, you can use your voice to move energy around, create relaxation, and deepen states of pleasure in your body. Learning to use and channel your energy is a vital part of tantric sex.

5. Improve Your Experience During Labour And Childbirth
Did you know that understanding the relationship between your voice and vagina can help to improve your experience of childbirth?
There are deeply mystical and physical synchronicities between both which you can learn more about here in my blog article on how the connection vagina and voice are connected.
When the jaw is tight, the pelvic floor and vagina tend to also hold tension. And likewise, when the pelvic floor and vagina are holding tension, the jaw tends to be rigid or somewhat clenched too.
You can actually learn a lot about your mental, emotional, and physical state by simply observing what is happening in your body!
During childbirth, the baby must travel through the pelvic floor in order to exit the uterus and cervix into the vaginal canal. This requires the birthing mother to relax the pelvic floor to help the baby glide through with ease.
Naturally, birth and labour can sometimes (but not always) be an uncomfortable experience. And discomfort has the tendency to make the body tense up in order to process the sensations and to prevent injury.
However, tension is counterproductive for birth—both the mother and the pelvic floor need to be relaxed and stress-free to decrease the resistance to birth.
Discomfort also affects the voice and breath. When we are in discomfort the voice becomes high-pitched and shrill, whilst the breath becomes shallow and fast, and the jaw tightens.
But we already know that loan groans and slow steady breathing helps to massage the vagus nerve and activate the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for calmness and relaxation!
This is why doulas and midwives encourage the birthing mother to meditate on good birthing techniques during labour. The focus is on breathing slowly and steadily, whilst letting out low-pitched groans, hums and growls.
If the mother starts to breathe quickly, clench the jaw, tense the body (which signals that the pelvic floor is also tense), and vocalises in a higher pitch—she’s quickly reminded to breathe and relax, to bring the pitch back down, and to breathe into areas of intense sensation to release the muscles.
This process helps her to relax the jaw, relax the pelvic floor and to activate the vagus nerve through steady breathing and low-pitched vocalisations. Which in turn, makes it must easier for the baby to slide down into the vaginal canal with less resistance to gravity.
6. Understand Your Emotions Through Your Body And Voice
You can understand a lot about your emotions and how you feel by observing what is happening within your body and voice. If there is an element of disassociation or disconnection, then you can bring yourself back to embodiment and connection simply by observing whatever is present.
It is easy to notice resistance, fear, discomfort, and tension in the body, breath and voice. See if the jaw is tight, you’re holding your breath, or the voice is higher in pitch. Is the voice shrill or whiny? Do you feel any tension in the area of the neck, throat, and lower face? Are you breathing deeply or shallowly? How about in the area of the vagina and pelvic floor? Do you feel relaxed or are you holding rigidity in the lower abdomen?
If you are struggling to understand how you truly feel in the moment, about something, or even about someone—all you need to do is observe your body and listen to what it is telling you.
Listening to, and understanding, your body is a vital part of sexual wellness, sexual liberation, and tantra yoga. Shame around your sexual identity or sexual trauma can have a lasting impact on your connection to your body.
You might find that you have disconnected from your body by disassociating and numbing. This can leave your body, and perhaps even sex and masturbation, feeling foreign, strange, awkward, and unenjoyable.
Learning how to understand and listen to your body is a key step in your journey of self-empowerment. It helps you to reclaim your body as your own. And it’s a powerful step towards learning how to enjoy pleasure in your own body—which is your birthright.
If you need an easy way to tell if you have abandoned or disassociated from yourself—then pay attention to your speech. Does your speech match up with your true desires?
Do you often say no when you mean yes? And do you often say yes when you mean no? Or do you have a strong ability to be able to advocate for your own desires and boundaries?
Another way that you can understand your mind, body, soul, and emotions, is through your inner seasons and the menstrual cycle. If you want some tips on the inner seasons of the menstruation cycle then check out my article here.
7. Energize Your Chakras
There are 7 main chakras, and they are vital for spiritual growth and holistic wellness. Working with both your voice and vagina helps you to move stagnant energy through two of the main chakras; the throat chakra (vishuddha chakra) and the sacral chakra (svadhistana chakra).
Working with these two chakras helps you to invigorate and charge your energetic body and revitalize, cleanse, and purify your energy field. And not only that, they help you to tap into specific qualities associated with the chakras such as passion, creativity, sensuality, authentic expression, and Divinity.
8. Feel More Confident And Improve Your Self-Esteem
Developing your ability to express yourself through your voice and building your sexual confidence is empowering and liberating. This intimate journey with different parts of yourself helps you to build your self-esteem.
Becoming really confident and comfortable in who you are, and what you have to say is one of the most beautiful parts of developing the vagina and voice connection.

9. Learn To Use The Breath For Pleasure And Release
Did you know that you can learn to use your breath to deepen your sense of pleasure and enjoyment? Not just in the bedroom, but also just when doing things you enjoy—like eating delicious treats and singing!
Have you ever noticed that during a yoga class when the yoga teacher tells you to exhale, and you let out a long full sigh, you immediately feel more relaxed and calm?
The breath has a strong ability to cleanse the energetic channels and activates your relaxation response through the parasympathetic nervous system and the vagus nerve.
When you are learning to sing, you have to learn how to use your lungs properly and fully because the exhale vibrates the vocal cords and carries the sound out of your larynx.
Learning how to use your breath and lungs properly not only strengthens your voice, but also helps you to relax into a sense of pleasure and joy.
Using the breath helps you to decrease resistance in the body and mind to pleasure.
Try it out!
Next time you’re having sex or masturbating, focus on deep inhales and exhales and notice how it changes your experience and how your body feels.
Or the next time you’re eating a delicious snack, notice the breath and focus on deep full inhales and exhales during the process of eating—and notice what changes.
10. Explore Different Ways To Meditate And Access Different States Of Awareness
There are a variety of different ways that you can meditate and access different states of awareness. Many practitioners find it a struggle to meditate, especially at the beginning, so if that’s you—you’re not alone.
My experience as a tantra yoga practitioner and teacher has taught me that everyone can meditate, but that everyone has different preferences when it comes to technique.
You can actually use your voice and vagina connection to help you move into meditation in a variety of different ways. For example, you can use your voice and breath to help you fall into meditation, and you can also enter into a state of meditation during tantric sex too.
Or you can use the throat and sacral chakra as points of concentration to help you to access meditation, or you can go into a variety of different types of sound meditation with bija mantras or chants.
Exploring different ways of accessing meditation is really beneficial because it strengthens your skill and your ability to concentrate, focus, and still the mind.

11. Improve Your Sexual And Non-Sexual Relationships
Working on your vagina and voice connection improves your relationships and helps you to form healthy habits and reset unhelpful or toxic patterns.
The voice and vagina connection not only helps your relationship with yourself but also your relationships with others—both sexual and non-sexual. Strengthening your relationship with your voice and vagina helps you to show up, be authentic, and communicate better.
Your ability to communicate with confidence transmits into your relationships and you’re able to convey your choices, needs, desires, and boundaries. You might even find that you start to become an inspiration for others because happiness and empowerment really are infectious!
Being able to ask for what you want, and say no to what you don’t want, is so vital in life. Connecting to your voice and vagina helps you to understand if your yes really means yes, and if your no really means no.
Trust and safety are required for fulfilling sexual relationships, but if you cannot convey what you want and your needs, it’s impossible for your sexual partner to meet your wishes.
When you can communicate well with others this increases trust, fulfilment and happiness within the relationship or friendship. It becomes a joy to be part of the relationship when you’re both authentically communicating.
It ensures that both of your needs are being met and that you’re not overstepping boundaries, as opposed to feeling unfulfilled or like you aren’t respected or heard. And it feels so good to ask for what you want with confidence!
When you find yourself facing unhappiness or conflict within a relationship or friendship, if you have good communication skills you’re able to find an amicable resolution that suits you both. Conflict resolution is a really important skill to maintain healthy sexual and non-sexual relationships.
12. Release Deep Seated Chronic Tension From The Body
Everyone knows the saying that ‘the body keeps the score’. And it really is true. Your body holds tension and stress, and stores it. You can often locate exactly how you truly feel by simply observing what is happening in your body.
Is your jaw, neck, throat, or lower face tense? Do you feel rigidity in the vagina, pelvic floor, or lower abdomen? Or do you feel limber, relaxed, soft, and flexible?
Have you ever been in a yoga class for shavasana, also known as corpse pose? At the end of the class, the yoga teacher guides you into a supine laying position on your back, and you are guided into deep breathing and full body relaxation.
Do you find this easy? Or do you find it hard to let go of your muscles and the tension in your mind and body?
Working with the voice and vagina helps you to dismantle deep-rooted tension from your body that you may have been carrying for years. We can pick up this tension due to trauma, fear, stress, disassociation, numbing or self-abandonment.
You are wired for survival. And there are a variety of ways that you will have learnt to survive in your environment. Whilst some of those techniques may have served you in the moment, you may find that years later you’re still holding onto coping mechanisms that no longer serve you. Those same techniques that once got you through, might now be hindering your spiritual growth and holistic wellness.
Working with loosening up tension in the jaw, neck, pelvic floor, and vagina can be a great start to unlocking freedom and relaxation in the rest of your body too. Not only that, using the voice and breath is a great way to move stagnant energy and release excess tension.
13. Live In Synchronisation With Your Natural Rhythms And Moon Cycle
Your body has a cyclical nature due to hormones, and both your reproductive system and larynx are affected by it.¹
Understanding your cyclical nature due to your menstrual cycle can help you to understand yourself better whilst improving your quality of life. Living in tandem with the natural processes happening in your body prevents you from trying to swim against the tide, but rather helps you to swim with it.
This way, you can take advantage of your inner power. You can start to live in flow with the natural occurrences of boosts in energy, mood, and mindset to make the most out of life. This helps you to stop trying to force your body to do things that don’t feel good or natural (due to where you are in your cycle).
If you’d like more information on your moon cycle, you can check out my article on the benefits of cycle syncing with menstruation here.
14. Increase Your Libido
Awakening your voice and your vagina help to increase your libido because you feel more confident and connected to your sexual nature. Your ability to connect to desire increases, and your ability to convey this to the world around you improves.
It feels fun, sexy, and fresh to have a newfound deep connection to this raw, wild, playful, and sensual part of yourself that you may not have been fully embodying previously!
Being able to satiate your sexual appetite through sexual exploration and sexual pleasure is a natural, normal, and wonderful part of life that deserves to be honoured, revered, and enjoyed!
