Pieces Of A Woman is a fictional movie that follows real-life experiences for couples experiencing the loss of a baby. The film depicts the journey of a young couple grappling with grief after they lose their baby due to birth complications.

The film was inspired by the director’s partner, Kata Wéber, and her experience of miscarriage. Whilst they also drew inspiration from a legal case in Hungary, which saw a midwife charged with manslaughter after a baby died during one of her home births. The midwife was charged and given a two-year prison sentence, but she was later pardoned.
