5 Fantastic Benefits Of Women’s Yoni Wellness

  • 24 December 2023

If you’re looking to deepen or create a healthy relationship with your body or improve your sex life—then yoni wellness can really help.

In this article, I explain what yoni wellness is, and why you should explore the benefits of yoni wellness in your own life! If you’ve never heard of yoni steaming or jade eggs then this article is definitely for you…

What Is Women’s Yoni Wellness?

You’ll hear the word ‘yoni’ a lot on the yoga and wellness circuit. It’s actually a Sanskrit word that is often used in not only yoga but Hinduism too.

The word yoni refers to the source of all life; the female reproductive system, but more specifically the womb and the vagina.

So, yoni wellness is essentially a form of wellness that is specifically tailored towards the female reproductive system—such as the womb, vagina, and pelvic floor.

There are so many different practices and treatments used within yoni wellness but some common treatments are womb massage, yoni massage, and yoni steaming. And some common yoni wellness products that you might come across are; yoni oil, yoni herbs, yoni eggs, and yoni wands.

What Are The Benefits Of Women’s Yoni Wellness?

There are vast benefits of women’s yoni wellness depending on the type of treatment or product you use. Yoni wellness can be used as an alternative and complementary treatment for ailments, to deepen your connection to your body, or to improve your sex life.

Whilst there are lots of benefits to yoni wellness, there are a lot of medically unsubstantiated claims flying around the internet about the benefits of yoni wellness too… So, to prevent you from having to sift through the snake oil—I did the hard work for you.

Here are some of the benefits of yoni wellness that are backed by logic, science and clinical research…

1. Increased Sexual Confidence And Libido

Yoni wellness products and treatments can help to increase your sexual confidence and libido. Connecting to your body is an important central aspect of sexual confidence and libido, so when you take the time to pamper, love and perform self-care on the female reproductive system (your yoni)—you help to revitalise and recharge it.

Like anything; wherever your focus goes—energy flows.

For example, when you want to feel healthier, more energized, and more youthful; you spend more time working out, and you give extra time, love and energy to your body through fitness and diet.

Well, yoni wellness is essentially the same but for your sexual health. By spending time on yoni wellness practices, you are supercharging your sexual health!

Learning about your body through yoni wellness treatments and products gives you a sense of confidence because you’re figuring out stuff about your body as you go along.

We change all throughout life, so what was the case two years ago—might be totally different now. And regular yoni wellness treatments allow you to stay connected to your body and needs in the current moment.

When it comes to sexual confidence, it’s hugely important to know your body better than anyone else, so exploring your body through yoni treatments and products helps to fast-track your relationship to your sensual side!

2. Can Help During Labour And After Pregnancy

Pelvic floor exercises that are tailored to your specific body needs are really important during labour and after pregnancy.

Most women do not know where their pelvic floor is or know how to control it, and this can affect labour because your baby needs to travel through your pelvic floor to reach earth side.

Pelvic floor exercises allow you to learn to strengthen, but also release and relax your pelvic floor muscles (PFM) which is a vital skill for delivery.

Although we often talk about strengthening the pelvic floor, many women actually have a super strong pelvic floor, and they need to learn to relax, as opposed to ‘tighten’.

3. Can Help To Prevent Urinary Incontinence (UI) And Prolapse

Arnold Kegel first described pelvic floor exercises back in 1948, and his clinical studies found a few key things.¹ Dr Kegel discovered that pelvic floor exercises could help to prevent genital organ prolapse and urinary incontinence which is not only extremely beneficial for women as they age but also for women who are pregnant or have had children.

You’ll find that healing jade crystal yoni eggs are commonly used to work with the pelvic floor muscles in yoni wellness.

4. Relaxation

Taking the time for rituals and self-care is an act of self-worship, and is extremely relaxing. We don’t often take the time to nourish our bodies properly—let alone our reproductive system and sexual organs.

You can make your yoni treatment into a simple or elaborate time for self-love and self-care which induces a deep sense of relaxation, especially when you combine it with mindfulness and meditation.

Relaxation, meditation, and massage have a variety of benefits including reducing stress and encouraging hormone balance.

Clinical research has found that massage can help to alleviate stress, decrease cortisol, and increase dopamine and serotonin.² And relaxation practices are regarded as being beneficial to hormone balance whilst also being able to help to alleviate menopause symptoms.³

In the same way that having a facial steam is often extremely therapeutic and relaxing, enjoying a yoni steam can often have the same effect too.

5. Alleviation From Discomfort During The Menstruation Cycle

If you experience a heavy menstrual flow and painful periods then womb massages could help to decrease pelvic pain during menstrual cramps. Many women experience discomfort during certain times of their menstrual cycle and spending some time massaging the lower abdomen can really help.

Did you know that you can sync to the cycle of your menstruation to improve your holistic wellness? Check out my blog article here on the benefits of cycle syncing with your menstruation.

Conclusion

Like any other part of your body, your yoni deserves self-care too.

Have you ever tried out yoni herbal steaming, womb massage or healing jade eggs?
