Are you wondering if you’re going through a period of spiritual awakening? Or just losing your marbles?
Or perhaps you’ve been focusing on trying to heal and develop your spirituality, and you’re wondering if your efforts are paying off…
In this article, we cover some key signs that you might be going through a spiritual awakening.
How Do I Know If I Am Spiritually Awakening?
Spiritual awakening and enlightenment are often used interchangeably. They describe the journey towards inner peace, a bliss-like state, and the revealing of your Higher Self through a spiritual awakening process.
The spiritual journey of enlightenment happens when your ego stops governing you, and you’re able to see the infinite connectedness and intricacy of the universe. You stop seeing yourself as separate from the universe and others in it, and you realize your True Self. Your True Self is infinite, boundless, eternal, and connects everything in the universe (and beyond).
The spiritual path of awakening and merging the soul with the True Self is a progressive journey that has a variety of different successive experiences that are unique to the individual experiencing them and their karmic journey.
Sometimes when you’re going through a period of spiritual development, or spiritual awakening, it can be hard to know exactly what’s going on!
You might feel excited and like all the pieces are clicking into place, calm and supported, anxious, depressed, intense energy, or even confused. The experience is different for each individual.
Spiritual enlightenment is a successive journey of different experiences that help you to self-realize your true nature, and you experience multiple spiritual awakenings during your lifetime.
There isn’t a single clear roadmap to lead you down the road of spiritual awakening. Your path through the journey of spiritual awakening and enlightenment isn’t necessarily straightforward or linear, and it is unique to your karmic footprint.
The process of spiritual awakening is both dismantling things that no longer serve you, such as beliefs, habits, and systems, along with evolving past old boundaries that bind you.
Spiritual awakening does what it says on the tin. You awaken from what can be described as a dream-like state and consciously grow towards a more mindful level of consciousness that sees past the illusion of this current reality. This paradigm shift away from a material-based and ego-centred level of awareness allows you to grow, flourish, and evolve.
Avidyā means ignorance, incorrect knowledge, and misconception in Sanskrit. It is used through Buddhist, Hindu, and Yogic philosophy to describe the state of sleepwalking and operating from lower level consciousness prior to spiritual awakening.
During the process of spiritual awakening the veil of avidya—incorrect knowledge—is lifted and you begin your process of self-realization. During the process of self-realization, you start to operate from your Higher Consciousness and learn your true nature, which is Divinity itself.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of some common things that can trigger or be signs of spiritual awakening and healing. It can be hard to categorize exactly what your spiritual awakening might look like because it’s always different and is a unique individual journey.
Sometimes the experience of spiritual awakening feels good, like walking towards the light. And other times the experience of spiritual awakening feels uncomfortable, like a need to walk away from the dark. There is no wrong or right path when it comes to spiritual awakening, your journey is beautiful in its own way and exactly what you need.

Synchronicities can also help to guide you through life in the right direction if you start to pay attention to the subtle cues around you.
Perhaps you’re noticing certain messages showing up as slogans on people’s t-shirts? Or maybe you keep noticing certain names, details, or messages, showing up repeatedly throughout your day in odd places?

You might start to notice that whilst working a lot is great for your financial abundance, it might mean that your happiness and wellness decrease.
Whereas focusing too much on health and wellness might lead to less focus on working and financial security, which in turn, can increase stress.
When you are spiritually awakening you seek fulfilment, happiness, peace, balance, and holistic health and wellness that caters to all the needs you have in life.
This means not being too lazy, but taking rest when you need to. And it also means working hard to maintain all of the resources that you need, without overworking until burnout.
15. Ability To Face And Heal Trauma
When you’re going through a period of spiritual transformation you might notice that you become ready to face a certain experience or trauma that you’re holding onto. Perhaps you feel ready to heal and let go of a particular pain or heavy experience that you have been carrying.
