Awaken Your Inner Temple

8 Easy Ways To Awaken Your Inner Temple And Cultivate Inner Power

  • 24 December 2023

Most of us have felt spiritually disconnected at some point in our lives. With so many things calling for our attention and time, it can become really easy to slip into monotony, disconnection, and numbness.

But if you’re being called to awaken your inner power, and don’t quite know where to start then— this article is for you.

In this article, you’ll learn some simple ways to access your inner temple and inner strength so that you can feel spiritual connection, happiness, and inner peace again.

What Is Your Inner Temple?

In essence, your inner temple is the sacred space within yourself where you receive Divine guidance and infinite physical, mental, emotional, and energetic power.

Awakening your inner temple can help to provide you with an access point to deep healing and ancient wisdom.

You can think of your inner temple as a sacred refuge. It is your own sacred sanctuary that allows you to restore and heal. Your inner temple protects you from the daily stressors of life, and within your temple, you can see your true sacred nature.

How To Spiritually Connect With Yourself And Your Inner Temple

Here are some easy spiritual practices to support your spiritual awakening and help develop your spiritual growth.

You can deepen your spiritual capacity by dedicating at least ten minutes a day to one of these practices.

If you’re wondering how much you need to practice to get the best results from your yogic practices then check out my blog article here.

1) Yoga

Yoga is a sacred practice from South Asia, and it has been used for thousands of years to develop spiritual growth and build spiritual connection.

For the best results, aim to practice yoga for at least ten minutes every day. This can be a simple sequence of yoga postures like the sun salutations (surya namaskar) or a guided meditation.

The sun salutations are a vinyasa yoga sequence of postures (asana), that has a good balance of forward folds, back bends, standing postures and prone postures. Not only that, but many beginner yoga practitioners find it quite an easy routine to pick up—which makes it a great go-to yoga sequence to practice daily.

2) Connect To Your Sexual Energy

Sexual energy is a really good way to tap into your inner power. By learning more about sensuality, the Divine feminine, and the power of your feminine energy to can learn to channel and utilise your sexual energy for your highest self.

3) Meditation Practice

Meditation is a spiritual practice that is now popular globally as it helps to build mindfulness and self-awareness. Meditation practitioners often report a wide range of benefits such as an increased sense of inner peace, inner power and inner strength.

If you are a beginner at meditation, then start with a small amount of time and over time you’ll get better at mindfulness. As time goes on you can slowly increase the time of your meditation practice as your ability to focus and stay in the present moment increases.

Guided meditation is a great way to get started as a beginner. Guided meditation really helps to keep your mind focused as you begin to build your mindfulness practice.

4) Prayer

Prayer is often associated with religion, but you can use prayer even if you don’t identify with any religion or spiritual philosophy in particular. Prayer is a really powerful way to awaken your inner temple and tap into your inner wisdom.

See what feels best for you when exploring prayer. Perhaps you can try sending love and gratitude through prayer to your ancestors, and different deities.

Firstly, imagine your physical body filling with vitality and love. And then send this healing power through yourself, and to the world around you.

We often turn to prayer in times of need, but prayer is a beautiful practice to incorporate into daily life. Offering a prayer of gratitude before any meal is a really easy way to use prayer daily.

5) Mother Earth Walking Meditation

Connecting to mother nature is a great way to build inner peace and support your healing journey. Simply take a ten-minute walk out in nature every day!

Walk with mindfulness and explore your surroundings through your senses. What can you see? What can you hear? What can you feel?

Mother nature channels powerful healing energy, so being outside in natural environments is a simple and easy way to connect, restore, and recharge.

If you want to explore some energy work during your mother earth walking meditation, then find a nice quiet spot to sit or lay down. Bring your focus to your root chakra (muladhara chakra) which is located at the base of the spine. See what arises, and focus on allowing yourself to feel grounded to the element of earth.

6) Breathing Meditation

Breathwork (pranayama) is a wonderful way to help release anxiety and simultaneously increase focus and self-awareness.

Research shows that breathing practice can significantly reduce stress.¹ And a well-developed ability to practice breathing meditation also helps you to build a sense of inner peace and inner power.

The best way to start breathing meditation practice is to be guided by a teacher. But if you want to opt for a simple breathing meditation to get you started then; bring your focus to your breath entering and leaving the lungs.

Try to breathe smoothly and deeply. Allow yourself to open up and receive life-giving energy with the inhale. And relax and release tension with the exhale.

7) Sacred Ritual

Developing your own connection to personal spiritual rituals is a great way to tap into your inner power. These can be simple rituals which take you 10 minutes. Or they can be longer intricate ceremonies in which you use the elements and different spiritual tools.

You can use the lunar energy of the moon as a powerful way to enhance your moon magic.

If you’d like to learn more about using new moon rituals to call in new beginnings and manifest your goals, then you can check out my blog post here.

Or if you’d like to learn more about how to use full moon rituals to heal and release stagnant energy then check out my blog article here.

8) Sound Healing

Did you know that music and sound can be used as access points to your inner temple? If you want to learn more about how you can use sound and music to heal then check out my blog article here.

There are a variety of different ways that you can use music and sound to cultivate inner power such as playing instruments, chanting, and healing frequency music.

How Is Spirituality Significant To My Everyday Life?

Your spiritual journey can help you to navigate through life by unlocking sacred guidance and ancestral wisdom.

Research shows that practices such as yoga, meditation and breathwork (also known as life force expansion) can help to support your healing journey whilst also increasing a sense of vitality.²

Many spiritual practitioners report that taking the time to connect to Spirit (or universal consciousness) benefits their mind, body, and soul. And a healthy body and mind allows you to feel your best and tap into your highest self.

By nurturing your holistic health and wellness through your spiritual journey you can find yourself with more energy to do the things you love. And your inner temple guides your inner voice—which leads you to more compassion for yourself and others. This makes it a lot easier to deal with stress, overcome challenges, find solutions to obstacles, and to combat negative self-talk.

You may find that your spiritual journey helps you to live life authentically. And as you start to live more authentically—this can help to inspire healing in the people around you too.

Benefits Of Spiritual Practice Include:

  • Feeling more grounded, balanced and centred.
  • The development of tools that help you cope with stress and reduce overwhelm.
  • Improvement of your physical health; such as the cardiovascular, nervous and respiratory systems.
  • Feeling more inspired and empowered through heart-centred and authentic living.
  • Living life with more clarity, purpose, gratitude, and contentment.
  • Better balanced emotions and hormones.³
